It was one of those typical spring days when one minute the sun
was shining and the next guests and photographers were dashing across
the lawn for cover. Wendy & Ben's guests weren't concerned in the
least even though there wasn't a square inch to spare in the little
conservatory. Hopping on to a corner seat I caught this lovely shot
of the bride grinning at one of her young nephews. Just as I was
about to take a second shot the little lad's mum turned to me with
a grin and said, "I'm always telling my children not to stand on
chairs, now what am I going to say to them?" "Perhaps" I said, "When
they grow up they will be taller than me, then they won't need to
stand on a chair"! We both laughed!

During the reception in the marquee the rain had come down heavily
enough to prevent the children from going outside. Fortunately the
showers gave way to a beautiful summer's evening and as I walked across
the field to photograph a few guests I spotted some of the children
racing down to look at the sheep. Putting a spurt on myself I managed
to capture the moment they arrived by the paddock - they were far
too preoccupied to notice me and my camera.

Having just taken a few group shots, one of the ushers was rounding
up the girls for a shot with the bride and groom. Some of them were
alongside the bride & groom but we were still waiting for a few stragglers.
As I turned to speak to Clare & James she playfully put her veil over
the groom's head. Click and I'd got the shot. The couple loved it
so much, they chose this picture for their thank you cards.

I'd just finished taking pictures of the bride and groom away from
all the guests and still had my long lens on the camera as I headed
back to join everyone. A good opportunity I thought to take some
candid shots of guests chatting away, enjoying themselves. Hopping
onto a low wall, partially hidden by a few large, exotic looking
plants, I slowly panned the scene capturing close up shots of Valerie
& Neil's guests. I thought that no-one had spotted me until I swung
my camera over to the right and there in my viewfinder was a very
puzzled little girl with her mum trying to work out what on earth
I was doing. I love the bemused expression on the little girl's
face and her Mum's wry smile which says, "no-one else spotted you,
but we have!"

I’d just finished taking pictures of Sean & Cheryl following the
signing of the Register. As I turned round to see how many guests
were coming forward with their cameras, the couple’s two boys together
with their cousins got out of their chairs to get a better view
of what was happening. I grabbed this very cute picture of the children
before they dashed forward to hug Sean & Cheryl. I learnt later
that this is one of the family’s favourite pictures.

I'd just asked Charlotte if I could l take a couple of shots of
her on her own. These two boys were having none of it. I saw them
running across the grass and could tell there was no way they were
going to miss out on anything. I love the interaction between Charlotte
and the older boy. This was a real fun wedding and I was thrilled
to be able to capture fun moments such as this.

I love this fun picture which
was taken at the Matara Centre just before the guests were called
in for the wedding breakfast. It was obvious as these ladies gathered
round David that they were going to make this a group picture he would
remember. As soon as I realised what was going to happen I set my
camera on rapid fire and captured a series of very funny pictures.
I can report that the groom recovered fairly quickly from his 'uplifting'
experience!
